Update on School Closure
A message from LOVELADY ISD
Lovelady ISD Parents & Guardians,
Today under Executive Order by Governor Abbott, all Texas Public Schools will remain closed throughout the 2019-2020 school year. However, providing instruction to students at home and monitoring their progress is still required. Therefore, Lovelady ISD will continue to implement our remote learning program and provide meals to all qualified students through May, 22nd. The Commissioner of Education has stated he will provide further guidance next week regarding ceremonies and other end of the year events. Please understand we have multiple action plans in place and based on further guidance from the state we will be able to release more details.
These are difficult times and we are saddened by the fact that our students have missed out on many school events and opportunities due to this pandemic. However, the health and safety of our students and our community must remain our top priority! At some point our hallways will be full again and we cannot wait for that time to come, but for now we must remain diligent. Please continue to follow the guidelines outlined by the CDC. I ask that you continue to be patient with us and know we are doing everything we can to provide your children with the best remote instructional program possible and afford our students with the recognition they deserve, even in these difficult times.
We will continue to keep you updated and please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions. We will be happy to assist you.
Thank you,
Wendy Tullos
Lovelady ISD Superintendent
